I. Tips for selecting WCB electric gate valves
1. Confirm the nominal pressure
- When selecting, first confirm the required nominal pressure. This requires determining the corresponding nominal pressure (PN) based on the temperature, pressure and material of the medium, and ensuring that the PN value of the selected valve meets the requirements.
2. Consider leakage
- According to the process requirements, confirm whether the leakage of the valve meets the requirements. The working pressure difference should be less than the allowable pressure difference of the valve, otherwise it is necessary to consider from a special perspective or select another valve.
3. Medium temperature and pressure
- Ensure that the temperature and pressure of the medium are within the operating temperature and pressure range of the valve. The ambient temperature should also meet the requirements.
4. Anti-blocking and corrosion resistance
- Consider the anti-blocking and corrosion resistance of the valve according to the circulating medium. Especially for suspensions containing high concentrations of abrasive particles, the internal material of the valve needs to be hard enough.
5. Economic conditions
- Comprehensively consider the overall performance, price ratio and after-sales service of the valve. Choose products with high cost performance and good after-sales service.
6. Valve core shape structure
- Choose the appropriate valve core shape structure according to factors such as flow characteristics and unbalanced force. Ensure that the materials of the valve core and valve seat are less affected by temperature and pressure changes.
II. Precautions for the use of WCB electric gate valves
1. Preparation before installation
- Before installation, cut off the fluid passing through the valve and completely close the valve. Put the wrench on the hexagonal bolt head close to the pipeline to avoid possible deformation.
2. Installation position
- Electric gate valves can be installed on horizontal or vertical pipelines, but single and double gate gate valves should be installed on horizontal pipelines, and the handwheel should be located above the valve. Installation downward is not allowed.
3. Use of bypass valves
- For large-diameter and high-pressure gate valves, the opening and closing torque is large, and the bypass valve can be installed. The bypass valve is installed outside the main gate valve, and its inlet and outlet are connected and interconnected with both sides of the main gate valve to reduce the opening torque of the main gate valve.
4. Regular inspection and maintenance
- After a period of normal use, check and verify whether all bolts are tightened, and tighten them again if necessary. Check the sealing surface and packing of the valve regularly to ensure reliable sealing.
5. Avoid improper use
- When the electric gate valve is fully open or fully closed, the sealing surface of the ball and the valve seat is isolated from the medium, and the medium will not cause erosion of the sealing surface when passing through. Avoid using the gate valve for regulation and throttling.
6. Environmental conditions
- Pay attention to the influence of medium temperature and pressure on the reliability of use. At high temperature and high pressure, the gate may be wedged due to temperature changes, and the non-sealing phenomenon is easy to occur due to uneven medium temperature in various places.
As an important valve equipment, the selection and use precautions of WCB electric gate valve are directly related to the safety and efficiency of the system. Through reasonable selection and standardized use, the service life of the valve can be effectively extended and the reliability of the system can be improved. It is hoped that the selection skills and use precautions provided in this article can provide useful reference for users.
